Alliance Won 4 Awards in HKQAA Recognition Program for Organisations 2022

Alliance Construction Materials Limited (“Alliance”) is proud to announce that the Company and its Sai Tso Wan 2 Plant won 3 awards in the category of “Pioneering Organisation in Net-Zero Contribution” and “Management Award for Net-Zero Contribution - Visionary Blueprint towards Net- Zero” in the HKQAA Recognition Program for Organisations 2022. Mr. Vincent Yu, CEO of Alliance also received the “Leadership Award for Net-Zero Contribution” from HKQAA. 

Sustainability is the core of Alliance’s business operation. The Company pledges to uphold its corporate social responsibility and has developed holistic carbon reduction strategies for its operation and management. For Scope 1 carbon emissions, the Company's Customer Service Centre adopts an optimized job allocation system to significantly shorten the transportation distances. The Company has gradually introduced new Euro VI 5-axle concrete trucks with 10 cubic meters capacity to replace the original Euro V 4-axle trucks since 2021. The new truck fleet with better fuel efficiency can help to reduce the overall carbon emissions. The enhanced lifting capacity of the new truck can support delivery with less trips and hence less carbon footprint. Meanwhile, the Company continue to use B5 Biodiesel for some of its vehicles to reduce carbon emission.  

Regarding Scope 2 emissions, the Company joined hands with a solar developer in 2020 to introduce solar PV systems at two selected concrete plants in Tsing Yi and Yuen Long. From December 2020 to July 2022, the plants’ power output has offset more than 53 tons of carbon dioxide, which was equivalent to planting more than 1,220 trees for Hong Kong.
