Climate Protection Initiatives

To uphold our climate protection responsibility we seek all opportunities to reduce our Greenhouse Gas emissions and to promote the importance of climate protection to our employees.  We organized our 2nd Carbon Neutral HSE Seminar on 5th April 2017 in Business Environment Council.
We initiated to reduce the Carbon Footprint that generated from the seminar.  For example we encouraged our employees to take the public transportation to the venue instead of driving, resulted in the event's Carbon emission was reduced to 1 ton.  The Carbon Neutral was achieved by offsetting the 1 ton of Carbon emission from the event supporting a hydropower project in Yunnan.

The Alliance Team also took part in the Tree Planting Challenge 2017 on 30th April 2017.  The activity was organized by the Friend of Earth aimed to encourage the public and business sectors to reduce Carbon emission and to protect the climate by "real actions".  The Alliance Team completed the planting target and the 8km run in Tai Lam Country Park; finally ranked the 2nd Runner Up among the corporate teams.
